First food: Pureed Peas

So as I was eating dinner, Caleb was extra interested in watching so I thought, why not give it a try? Sure enough, he really seemed to enjoy getting to eat my "mushed peas".  Although, he certainly wasn't a fan at first.  But he continued to give it a try and by the end he was practically begging for more! By the second night, he was like a baby bird with that mouth open letting me know I couldn't get it in fast enough!

Hat weather

Caleb and I still take Cooper on walks when the weather allows and we've had to bust out the fancy new hat that Emily made for us on more than on occasion...

Grandparent visit

I missed the photo-opp to get pictures of Grandma Reinhart feeding Caleb because I was giving Grandpa a hair cut.  I did get one of Grandpa holding him after his new cut though!

Vacation

Since Chris doesn't really get to use his vacation days during times when people would want to take vacation, he just took a couple of days off this week.  Historically, I would have had Columbus day off but not with my new school district.  So instead, I did my best to leave early and still didn't get out til 4:15 but it was so nice to get to meet my boy and hubby at a restaurant. We enjoyed Meatheads for dinner and I was home early with a full belly.  It was so nice having Chris home.  He took off Tuesday night too and we dined out with Grandmom at Attie's.  They continue to have their weekly drawings and the prize was up to $800 but no one won.  Maybe next week?

Nice Sunday!!

We started off the day in Cardinal's gear to cheer them on but we got that dirty so we switched to another outfit.  Today we had a great day!  We had a guest speaker at church and it was a nice message. We ate out at Red Lobster because mommy had a Darden gift card to spend.  Dinner was nice but I got a little sleepy and snuggled on dad.  

When we got home dad watched boring old football so of course, I easily dozed. All in all, it was a great Sunday!!  We watched some more of the guest speaker's message online and got to have a sweet little family night!!

Big boy!

Caleb is gaining a lot of fine and large motor control all of the sudden.  Today, Janice told me that he could sit up with little to no support. Sure enough, this smiley guy could!  She also informed me that he has a tooth!  His lower left front tooth has already emerged!  And, to make my mind go crazy, she told me he held his own bottle today! Say what?! I just can't believe my baby is growing so quickly!

Precious Moments

I had to work late tonight.  Nothing like being paid 7 hours a day but working 10!  (Which I do almost daily.)

When I picked up Caleb all my troubles seemed to melt away!  He is my sunshine!  It was chilly tonight so I thought it'd be a good time to try out our new (used) baby carrier when I walked Coopie. It was a hit. I loved it and so did Caleb! I think he preferred it over the stroller because he can see everything.  He wore the new hat the lovely Emily made for him and it kept him toasty warm!

He even smiled for the camera! ;-)

Date night- redefined

In the past, date night meant a nice dinner, snuggling on the couch watching a movie, and 'romance'!
Now, our date night was so amazing because as I nursed Caleb to sleep, Chris drove to Siam Terrace and bought the most amazing sushi.  We shared three rolls, appetizers and dessert.  The night ended in bed with us... sleeping!  lol  But, I really cherish those date-nights together!  He's the best husband I can ever ask for and I truly mean it.  So next time I'm mad about dirty socks on the floor, remind me of that!

New "ride"

Caleb was given a nice new toy to sit in when we went to Elli's b-day party!  Here he is learning how it works so fast.  He just loves it!  How is my boy so big? Seriously? When did this happen?  I love this stage! Watch as he figures out quickly how to work it!!

First food

Our doctor is old school and wanted us to try grains mixed with milk for a first food.  At first he was optimistic about the experience, but as more spoons kept coming, he said "Enough!"  He wasn't a fan and neither was mommy because it was a lot of wasted milk and much more clean up.  He's doing just fine without solids so I will probably continue to wait a bit longer.

I do not like oatmeal and I am not fooled into thinking this is milk just cuz it has some in it!

New High Chair

We bought this high chair on clearance last year at Target.  We finally put it together.  Caleb approves!
